Thor Ragnarok is emerging at a time when people are starting to ask if we are tired of comic books. For that, Thor: Ragnarok puts a big cross through this thinking. Thor changes the game. We can’t get tired of a sub-genre when movies keep inventing themselves every time.
Ragnarok is an explosion from beginning to end. If you like to laugh, you will smile from beginning to end. Every bit of humor goes away and if you’re Australian like me, you’ll get a kick out of a few jokes.
If Ragnarok was a chain, there wouldn’t be a weak link. While some links are weaker than others, there is no weaker part of the film. Everything was minimal, just solid.
Each character felt that they were used to the best of their ability. Every actor and actress showed their desired performance. You feel like 99% of the characters are fine. Hela’s villain was just a minor complaint about the characters in the film.
Like most Marvel villains, she performs terribly through Kate Blanchett and is a force when she needs to, but when Black Panther arrives next year, she will be largely forgotten. However, what they did well with it was to use it to compile some of Thor’s glorious history.

As mentioned, the humor was fantastic, and I think it comes down to Taika Vetti. Although he did not receive written credit for the film, you know in a humorous way that he had a great influence on what was happening on the screen.

Even while living on Taika, his guidance was invaluable. There are some shots in this movie that I want as wallpaper because they look like they should be paintings. The action was really well shot, the emotional moments were intimate to him, and of course, the wide shots of the scenes were great.
I really felt like it was the use of music. He really taped the Guardian’s music style and he did a great job with what was happening on the screen. He had a good balance of using songs when needed but working on scores when needed.
Ragnorok is a movie where if you have a problem with something, chances are it will be something personal. For me, what came across as negative was pacing, however, it largely follows positive.
The film manages to balance two stories that could easily have become separate films and worked really well, however, I felt like the end of Ragnorok’s story changed a bit. They both deal with their confidence as they choose to embark on their play activities.

Overall, Thor Ragnarok is a blast from start to finish. He captured the humor and light-heartedness that the Guardian once had and took it to a level you could never have imagined. Taika Waititi was out of the film both in front of and behind the camera, and it couldn’t have been achieved without her. As mentioned, if the film was a series, the weakest link would still be more than 90% strong.
The movie started with more than I expected. Some of the issues I noticed were that several bits of the trailer was cut from the movie. The three warriors could have done something else before they died. Saif should have been the hero in the movie but as long as Marvel uses it.
The new characters Korg, Skurge, Hela, and Valkryie were very interesting. Another clever thing the film did was insert a Dr. Strange post-credit scene in the film which was quite clever.

The film manages to entertain as well as inform. Many movies are better than Avengers but people don’t get it. Ultron was better, Dr. Strange, Captain America, and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 should be rated higher than the Avengers so I expect any true fan to rate Thor Ragnarok higher.
It deserves 10 or 9 but definitely not less than 8. Avengers Infinity War I fear that the ending of this movie could be bad, especially if all the surviving Asgardians are killed by Thanos as shown in the trailer of Infinity War.
Loki and Thor did some funny things like “get help“. It’s weird that Bruce Banner has been around for two years. If he now lives as a permanent hulk, it shows that his actor is leaving. Korg and Hamdal need to return someday for further action.
